In these last weeks I have been facilitating some very intense training sessions for the prevention of child sexual abuse for the Council of Europe, as new instances of our collaboration with the Council of Europe.
In 2010 and 2011 Pepa Horno and I supported the launch of the campaign “One in Five”, with specific materials using the book Kiko and the Hand and with training sessions here in Spain. In 2017 I facilitated some sessions in Tunisia. In 2019 and 2020 I facilitated sessions in the Republic of Moldova with the methodology Pepa and I had developed, Kiko and the Hand. Training for Trainers Manual. Protective Teachers, Protected Children: Preschool Training to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse, and the Guidelines were presented in November 2020 (with a full version in English for Moldova and a master version in English, without the legal aspects of the state, so that it can be adapted to other countries).
From September 22nd to 24th 2021, the project “Combating violence against children in Ukraine” organized an online training for trainers, that I facilitated with the support of the Council of Europe coordination team and the national experts. There is also available to download the guidelines in the approved version in Ukrainian.
And from September 29th to October 1st 2021, I facilitated another online training of trainers in the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe joint project “Supporting the establishment of Barnahus in Slovenia”. In this case, the Guidelines are already available in Slovenian.
Pepa and I congratulate the Council of Europe for its commitment to this wonderful campaign and its supporting materials, and for counting on us to deliver training sessions. We hope to see the Guidelines translated and adapted to other languages and countries soon.
In celebration,
